Over the years we've come to expect a lot from Steeda Auto-sports' tuner Mustangs. Good power, great handling, and superb streetability are Steeda hallmarks. However, as Ford continues to make its Mustang more complicated, tuners face more difficult challenges. As if to say it's up to those challenges, Steeda [(954) 960-0774; www.steeda.com] threw nearly its whole catalog at a 2001 GT. After driving the car, we'd say the company surpassed Ford's latest test. The result is a car that makes the power of a Cobra R for less money and doesn't give up niceties such as air conditioning or Mach 460 sound.
