2005 S197 Mustang - Mobile Blown - Tiger Racing
No matter how altruistic your intentions, you simply can't display a car at SEMA, the Detroit Auto Show, or any other major automotive exhibition without some mechanical and visual adrenaline in the mix. For the former, Tiger Racing turned to Vortech for a polished V2 S-Trim blower mounted on an otherwise mostly stock Three-Valve modular. The resulting rush of power is broadcast by Bassani headers and exhaust, and harnessed by a Detroit TrueTrac differential from Tractech. HPM Mega Bite Jr. lower control arms and an adjustable Panhard rod respectively help with traction and compensating for the lowered ride height of the Eibach spring/Koni damper combo. And the mission-critical hand controls no doubt permit nice modulation of StopTech's massive 14-inch brake setup, with four-piston calipers up front.
In the show-stopping looks department, Classic Design Concepts stepped up with its trendsetting Glassback roof, some prototype hood and C-pillar scoops (the production versions won't have the scallops), and a front spoiler with a chin even more prominent than Jay Leno's. We also give two thumbs up to the subtle contrast between the GT's factory Mineral Grey flanks, and the BASF Deep Black masterfully applied to the hood, roof pillars, rear wing, and rockers by Auto Kraft. And, yes, the 20-inch ebony-spoke Momo FXL rims are the perfect finishing touch.
But far more important than this GT's undeniable style and swagger is its message that those with lower-body disabilities need not be excluded from the simple joys of Mustang ownership.
