Run exclusively at the NMRA, Real Street was designed with heavy input from 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazine editor Steve Turner to offer the power-assisted street Mustangs a place to strut their stuff. Based on a strict set of rules, items such as solid-roller cams, sheetmetal intakes, long-tube headers, and race transmissions are not allowed. The most limiting aspects of this class are the mandated stock camshaft, the manual shifted transmissions, and the small slicks or drag radial tires. In eliminations, an all-run field will run on a pro-tree (0.400) NHRA Sportsman ladder.

The oldest surviving Ford drag race of them all, the mighty Ford Motorsport Nationals, remains one of the most popular events on any racer's schedule. The '03 race marked a historic event in Ford drag racing, but not in a good way. Thundering Pennsylvania rain put an end to the show on Saturday-the first rainout ever in both the Motorsport Nationals 20-year history and also the NMRA's 5-year career. With a move to a few weeks earlier in June, the Motorsport Nationals should see better weather and will take another step forward in the legend of Ford heads-up drag racing. The NMRA has some special surprises for the 20th Annual NMRA Ford Motorsport Nationals, so make sure you attend this historic event. This should be one of the bigger races of the year, so expect to see more than 600 race cars, 10,000 spectators, 350 show cars, 60 swap-meet vendors, and 50 new parts manufacturers.
